Services:
Eating Disorders (Anorexia, Bulimia, COE)
Julie has worked with all different types of eating disorders (Anorexia, Bulimia, and Compulsive Overeating) for over 10 years. Although the weight goals for each of these disorders are very different, the underlying issues are quite similar. Julie works with patients to help improve their relationship with food by learning which outside stressors may affect their food choices. Food is often how many patients with eating disorders display their anxiety, fear, stress, depression, and other emotional challenges. Julie hopes to help her patients figure out how to verbalize instead of internalize these daily struggles and take better care of their bodies as a result.
Weight Management
Weight management is a struggle for so many men, women, and children in our society today. Unfortunately there is no quick fix or fad diet that will solve this problem for any of us, or we would have all found the one diet that works and be very satisfied with our bodies. Learning to eat intuitively is Julie’s goal in working with her patients. Patients will learn how to make healthier and more well balanced food choices, the importance of eliminating the mentality of ‘good vs bad’ foods, and that all foods can fit into a healthy lifestyle. Weight loss is only achieved when an individual can see the importance of feeding their bodies well, and not restricting foods in order to lose weight.
Medical Nutrition Therapy
When diagnosed with a chronic medical condition such as Celiac Disease, Diabetes, High Cholesterol, Hypertension, or Crohn’s disease; newly becoming pregnant; or considering a Gastric Bypass surgery, having a good understanding of how to adequately feed your body is extremely important. Julie can help educate you on the importance of how good nutrition can help manage your medical condition. In some cases eating well can help decrease or eliminate the need for medications.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to COVID-19, all new and follow up sessions are being done as virtual sessions over Zoom at this time. I am fully open for business - please feel free to reach out for more information.
